For the first word,"Blessed" I covered little paper office tags with burlap and hung them on twine tied across an old rectangular frame that I already had. I used candle stands to display a ceramic pumpkin and bird behind the frame.
I used a crewel embroidery piece that I did when I was 18 years old and block letters that spell "family" because the porch reminds me of our house and Thanksgiving is about "home and family."
I found the tin heart at Wal-mart and painted "hearts" on it to continue the phrase "grateful hearts." Doesn't the little chipmunk look "grateful"?
I made the pennant banner by painting the letters on burlap, attaching them to jute twine and hot gluing silk leaves, tiny pine cones and old buttons on them.
This is what I am thankful for.......
"Oh May My Heart Be Full of Thanks!"
This is the wreath that I made for the kitchen.
I hung a framed quote that I like over the mirror on the halltree.
"Thank God for what you have. Trust God for what you need."
The vases on the mantle have Isaiah 51:13 ...."and all thy children shall be taught of the Lord" printed on them. That is the purpose of Thanksgiving ..... to me.
Happy Thanksgiving!
